We talk about rack-mounted servers on an almost-quarterly basis. But where do the SMBs who need that gear put it? Supermicro says its new SuperRack systems are designed to help simplify installation, maintenance, and scaling, so that when it comes time to deploy, you don't end up with compatibility headaches.
And it only makes sense, right? If you're building machines using Supermicro's innovative platforms like the Twin and Double-Sided Storage families, easy access to the front and back of the rack is critical.
The company's lineup is currently five models strong. All of them are 42U tall, but three feature open frames and two are complete enclosures. Otherwise, the differences really boil down to depth requirements...
...You get heavy load support across the SuperRack family, accommodating high-density servers totaling up to 5,600 pounds. Moreover, the racks can be scaled out in any direction to match cabling, airflow, and cooling...
...Perhaps the greatest reason to look to Supermicro's SuperRacks is the infrastructure of accessories supporting all five enclosures. Everything is covered in some way, from nuts and bolts to floor levelers to cable troughs, casters, doors, shelves, posts, and panels.
