Open-E today announced that its Data Storage Software Open-E DSS V6 has been verified as Citrix Ready. The Citrix Ready program helps customers identify third-party solutions that are recommended to enhance virtualization, networking and cloud computing solutions from Citrix Systems, Inc. Open-E DSS V6 completed a rigorous verification process to ensure compatibility with Citrix XenServer Version 5.6, providing confidence in joint solution compatibility.
The Citrix Ready program makes it easy for customers to identify complementary products and solutions that can enhance Citrix environments. Customers can be confident that Open-E DSS V6 has successfully passed a series of tests established by Citrix, and can be trusted to work effectively with Citrix XenServer in order to guarantee a heterogenous IT infrastructure.
The Open-E Data Storage Software V6 (DSS V6) is a unified file and block storage management operating system (OS), which provides Network Attached Storage (NAS), iSCSI and Fibre Channel Storage Area Network (SAN) functionality. Superior performance, security and scalability are offered at a fraction of the costs of alternative storage options. Advanced features of Open-E DSS V6 include data and volume replication, snapshot-volume, automated failover for iSCSI volumes, WORM and NDMP.
Designed for versatile and flexible use with a variety of hardware RAID platforms, Open-E DSS V6 allows the combination of NAS devices and iSCSI SAN systems, and the integration of multiple network interface controllers including Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel. Open-E DSS V6 supports logical volumes greater than 16 TB. The software is available with a license capacity of 4, 8, 16 and unlimited TB. Optionally, the capacity can be further expanded.
