Citrix Systems today announced that Citrix NetScaler, Citrix Access Gateway, and NetScaler Application Firewall have been certified to meet Common Criteria EAL 2+. Common Criteria is an internationally recognized set of guidelines (ISO 15408) which define a common framework for evaluating security features and capabilities of Information Technology (IT) security products.
Common Criteria certification demonstrates that Citrix's market-leading products have been independently tested and verified to meet the strict security requirements of many Global 1000 corporations and government agencies - including the policies and recommendations of U.S. Department of Defense Directive 8100, 8500.2, OMB M-04-04 and NIST SP 800-63 - for features such as security functionality, identity management and the handling of vulnerabilities.
"Security and interoperability requirements of our federal customers, especially the Department of Defense, are critically important to meeting their mission. Common Criteria is one of the sets of standards that assures compliance," said Tom Simmons, area vice president for Citrix Government Systems. "Certification of our products represents Citrix's commitment to meeting those requirements while offering innovative approaches that provide secure access to IT resources while protecting sensitive data, while at rest or in transit over government and public networks."
