Boston Limited, now entering its 20th year as a Pan European distribution partner for silicon valley based Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI), have announced a liquid-cooled SuperCool 1U Twin server utilising Intel's 5400 (Seaburg) based Chipset.
The SuperServer 6015TW-TS features 2 DP nodes in a 1U form factor and supports the latest Quad Core (Harpertown) and Dual Core (Wolfdale) series processors from Intel (Xeon 5400 / 5300LV/ 5200/ 5100LV).
The SuperServer already employs impressive and innovative design features providing power saving by utilising a single high efficiency power supply and achieving highly dense computing efficiencies by placing two nodes in a 1U space. Boston have engineered further efficiency savings by applying liquid cooling technology, thereby lowering CPU core temperatures, removing air cooled fans where no longer required and lowering power consumption.
"Our tests show that Boston Limited's SuperServer 6015TW-TS reduces power consumption by over 30% compared to rival server solutions and doubles the rack installation density by removing much of the heat dissipation issues arising from dense computing installations", said Manoj Nayee, Director of Boston Limited.
Boston will be launching a full range of servers based around Supermicro's X7DWT, X7DWT-INF, X7WE, X7DWN+ and X7DWU motherboards including flexible UIO solutions featuring 3 add-in cards in a 1U and 7 add-in cards in a 2U. Workstations solutions use the X7DWA-N motherboard supporting 2 x PCI-E x16 Gen 2 slots, 7.1 Hi-Def Audio and dual 1394 Firewire, making it an ideal high-performance graphics/CAD platform.
"Our new Intel 5400 (Seaburg) chipset-based motherboards and systems support 1600Mhz system bus speed and Gen 2 PCI-Express for superior performance", said Dev Tyagi, General Manager of Supermicro UK. "Supermicro also is the first in the industry to fully support both 1.8v and 1.5v FBD memory on its entire line of Seaburg solutions."
